Gentronics Renews BTCC Partnership with Independent Champion Aron Taylor-Smith

Gentronics, specialists in Enterprise IT Repair, IT Asset Disposal, and Data Services, is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with BTCC Independent Champion Aron Taylor-Smith. After a highly successful first season together in 2024, the collaboration continues into the 2025 campaign as Taylor-Smith joins Toyota Gazoo Racing UK.

Taylor-Smith reflected on the renewed partnership, saying:

“I absolutely loved getting to represent Gentronics during my 2024 campaign, which saw me being crowned as the 2024 BTCC Independent Champion, and I’m delighted to take them on the next step of this journey with Toyota Gazoo Racing. It must be said that Andrew and all of his team at Gentronics are arguably the nicest bunch of guests that we have trackside during the year, and I’m thoroughly looking forward to seeing them trackside once again. It is shaping up to be an incredible year, which simply would not have been possible without the support of Gentronics.”

The Irishman joins Speedworks Motorsport, the team behind Toyota Gazoo Racing UK, following an outstanding season in which he claimed the Independents’ title at Brands Hatch. His impressive campaign included 20 class victories and two overall podium finishes, further solidifying his reputation as one of the most consistent and talented drivers on the grid.

Taylor-Smith was the only driver to score points in every one of the 30 BTCC races in 2024—an exceptional feat in one of the most competitive touring car championships in the world. Now, he takes on his latest challenge in a manufacturer-backed Toyota Corolla GR Sport, one of the BTCC’s most successful modern touring cars, with 17 wins, 30 podiums, five pole positions, and 10 fastest laps since its debut in 2019.

With nearly 300 BTCC starts to his name, along with four career race wins, 22 podiums, and almost 1,500 championship points, Taylor-Smith is entering the next phase of his racing resurgence. Backed once again by Gentronics, he is set to take on the BTCC’s elite competitors as he aims for even greater success in 2025.

The Gentronics branding will once again be proudly displayed on Taylor-Smith’s car as he battles across the UK, with all BTCC races broadcast live on ITV4. With over 20 million viewers tuning into the championship in 2024, this partnership offers Gentronics significant exposure while supporting one of the sport’s most popular drivers.

Andrew Genever, Managing Director of Gentronics, expressed his enthusiasm for the continued collaboration:

“Everyone at Gentronics loved our 2024 partnership with Aron, and it is one that we were extremely keen to continue. It offers far more than a generic marketing programme, as we have the opportunity to host guests nationwide within the VIP hospitality, all of which is managed by Aron. It was incredible to see him being crowned as the BTCC Independent Champion whilst flying the Gentronics flag, and we’re all very excited to see what he can achieve this season with Toyota Gazoo Racing.”

With a thrilling season ahead, Gentronics is looking forward to supporting Taylor-Smith in his quest for further BTCC glory in 2025.
